The National Miners Memorial is located at The National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.
A Nation’s Tribute – To all those men, women and children who worked in the United Kingdom Coal Mining Industry and who served or died in the service of their country.
Kent Mining Groups are honoured to be a part of this amazing memorial along with Leicestershire, Northwest Miners Heritage Association, South Derbyshire and Warwickshire. We have replica plaques 19a & 19b – Roof Collapse at the centre on display along with a book that has been produced to tell the story of the memorial from the Vicotrian Boy in the coal mine to the 1940’s Miner and the Tunnellers. The book also includes Coal Miners Awarded the Victoria Cross in the First and Second World Wars.
