I hope you don’t mind me getting in contact with you. My great grandfather was Frank Carter who was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1948 for bravery due to saving the life of one of his mining colleagues at Tilmanstone Colliery in 1947. Would you have any further information to tell me about him please if at at possible? as I don’t have living relatives in Kent now, who might know abit about this brave late family member of mine.
