I thought perhaps your organisation would be the best source of information regarding this topic.
I’m asking the questions because I have no idea how much of the following is known generally in Elvington. So apologies if this is something you are very much aware of, except to say that I’m very pleased about the connection.
I live in Wolverhampton and have been a supporter of Wolverhampton Wanderers (‘Wolves’) since 1949. The team has not since quite reached the level of success that was achieved in the 1950s, when the team managed by Stan Cullis was known throughout Europe and beyond.
That success was in no small part thanks to two players. First and foremost to the very gifted Peter Broadbent, and secondly to prolific goalscorer Jimmy Murray. Two remarkable players who were both born in Elvington!
So I’m wondering if you have anything recorded about them in Elvington. It would please me to know that you have.
