Form Entry by Anthony Mangili (Mango)

    Hello Colin,

I contacted you back in March about our Scout Section (Max 24 10 -15 year olds) re a visit to the miner’s heritage center in Elvington. It would be great to have younger people learn about the industry, and what the miner’s did.

If possible I would be interested in a visit on a Tuesday evening 15 October starting at 19:00 Hrs and finishing around 20:00 Hrs or just after, giving us time to hike back to the hut in Shepherdswell for our normal finish time of 21:00 Hrs.

Last time I took with me my pair of type 6 lamps to guide us home – this time I’ve added to check tags that I got yesterday from the pop up miner’s heritage shop in Saint James, Dover, where I located my grandfather’s name and number in the Snowdown book, they engraved his number 743 and name Robert Goodwill (born February 1912), which I am very proud of.

Anyway let me know if this date could work with you guys….

    Kind regards

    Tony Mangili
