Good Afternoon,
I am hoping you will be able to help me with my family history research. On the 1921 Census my Gt Gt Grandfather, Frederick Broome was working at Tilmanstone Pit as a Coal Hewer and I believe living at 42 Milner Road, Elvington, Eythorne, Kent (where my Gt Gt Grandmother died on the 28th February, 1929). Also on the same 1921 Census entry is my grandfather Frederick John (Fred) Powell aged 13 years 2 months. I recall from conversations with my late mother that Fred Powell also became a miner. I should be very grateful if you could inform me of any employment records held for Timanstone Pit around that time (1921-1929). My Gt Gt Grandfather originally worked as a Coal Hewer in the Cannock Chase area before moving to Elvington and following the death of his wife in 1929 moved with Fred Powell to work in the pits in the area of Oldham, Lancashire. Any information would be very much appreciated and I thank you for any help you may be able to give. Many Thanks, Ann Daniels.
